MAS Attack at Torrance Art Museum

The Torrance Art Museum hosted a one night pop-up exhibition on Friday evening December 13, 2024. The exhibition was open to all artists in Southern California. To quote the Torrance Art Museum press release: “After a challenging and divisive period, artists from Southern California are invited to gather, share, and support one another with the return of the Mutual Appreciation Society (MAS) event: MAS Attack!”

Three PADA members participated in the event: Ariel Swartley with her work “Not Going Back,” Judy Herman with her work “Clutching at Straws,” and Beth Shibata with her work “Democracy: Closed.” Ariel Swartley reports that “There were about 300 works, beautifully hung, a huge crowd, and lots of great things to look at.”
