When the Color Goes; Show opens Oct. 5, 2021

What happens when photographers close their eyes to the colors around them?

Twenty five members of PADA, a Peninsula-based group of photographic and digital artists explore that question in When the Color Goes, opening in the Library’s art gallery October 5.

Images range from the traditional black and white portrait or a still life recalling photography’s origins and subtle depths to landscapes focusing on texture and pattern and digital works using the monochrome palette to evoke dream-like moods.

Together, the works in When the Color Goes invites viewers to consider what lies beyond our normal visual spectrum.

October 5 through November 12, 2021; Reception October 9.
